This master class is designed for current AAB students and dedicated dancers from the broader Buffalo community. Dancers should be comfortable in a structured technique class and prepared for focused corrections in a fast-paced environment.

About the Presidents Day Master Class
Presidents Day is a time to reflect on leadership and the broader American story. Throughout our history, the arts have held an important place in education and cultural life. Ballet has been supported and valued by public figures who believed discipline and artistry matter, including Betty Ford, who studied and taught ballet before becoming First Lady, and Jacqueline Kennedy, who championed American ballet institutions and the arts as part of our national identity.
The American Academy of Ballet invites dedicated dancers to train in a focused Presidents Day Master Class. This extended ballet technique experience offers serious students the opportunity to refine classical fundamentals in a structured and disciplined environment.
Rooted in the tradition of American classical ballet, the class reflects the standards of institutions that shaped generations of professional dancers. The emphasis remains on clean technique, musical clarity, and artistic integrity.
Dancers will engage in focused classical technique work such as alignment, turnout mechanics, controlled adagio, turning precision, elevation in allegro, and clarity of épaulement. The class will be held to the standards of serious pre professional ballet training, with attention to musicality, strength, and refined execution.
This master class is designed for dancers who are comfortable in a structured technique setting and prepared to receive focused corrections in a fast paced environment. It is well suited for students preparing for summer intensives, auditions, and advanced training opportunities.
