Summer Intensive
This summer, take your dancing to the next level.
This August, American Academy of Ballet presents its Summer Intensive, an advanced week of training for dedicated students in Ballet E through Pre Professional.
Our faculty includes Benjamin G. Bowman, whose career includes New York City Ballet, Twyla Tharp Dance, and Broadway; and Adriana Suarez Di Marco and Gianni G. Di Marco, former Principal Dancers with Boston Ballet and current professors at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Benjamin G. Bowman brings extensive experience as a teacher, coach, répétiteur, and rehearsal director. His performing career spans New York City Ballet, Twyla Tharp Dance, and a broad range of work across ballet, contemporary dance, and musical theater, including Movin’ Out on Broadway. He has taught company class, staged repertoire, and coached dancers for professional companies, conservatories, and pre professional programs nationwide, offering students a high level of technical discipline, stylistic range, and professional insight.
Adriana Suarez Di Marco specializes in advanced ballet, pointe technique, Gyrokinesis®, and classical and contemporary repertoire. A former Principal Ballerina with Boston Ballet, she performed leading roles in Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Le Corsaire, Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, and The Nutcracker, along with major works by George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Nacho Duato, and Twyla Tharp. Her teaching experience includes Boston Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Harvard University, Ballet Hispanico, and Regional Dance America.
Gianni G. Di Marco's performing career includes the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, Opera Leipzig Ballet, and Boston Ballet. In addition to his performance work, he has choreographed more than 50 original works for companies and institutions including Boston Ballet, Boston Conservatory, Boston Lyric Opera, and Festival Ballet Providence, and has taught at Boston Ballet, Harvard University, the University of South Carolina, and Walnut Hill School for the Arts.
Throughout the week, students will take daily ballet technique classes along with focused coaching in musical precision, clarity of movement, partnering mechanics, and stage presence. Training is designed to reflect the expectations of professional companies and conservatory programs.
